Grant has been growing geoducks since he was 12 years old. Those were the early days of commercial geoduck farming, and no one really had any idea what they were doing. Over time, we figured it out!
Grant “grew up” and went to the University of Washington, where he met Ashley. Ashley studied English Literature and Psychology while Grant studied English Literature and Philosophy. They graduated together in 2008. Shortly thereafter, they hiked the 211 mile John Muir Trail, and Grant proposed to Ashley atop the highest peak in the contiguous U.S., Mount Whitney.
They soon were married and had the crazy idea to develop a new gourmet popcorn retail concept. They opened Popcorn Pavilion in 2009. Ashley now works as the Copywriter for Exofficio, while Grant runs the popcorn business.
We’ve always had easy access to Geoduck and have always loved experimenting with it in different recipes. One day we decided to share some of these experiments with the world. (You know, in our spare time.) You’re looking at the result! We now reside in Ballard, Washington. As always, if you’ve got any Geoduck Recipe ideas, or would like to share your experiences with Geoduck with us, please leave a comment below!
Thanks for reading!
